Home > the Val d'Azun
The Val d’Azun which is a wide valley facing west/east, enjoys an exceptionally sunny weather. It is an Eden in the Pyrénées. You will discover a preserved nature, come across small typical villages, barns and stone mills with slated roofs.
You will be able to discover many lakes, exceptional fauna and flora thanks to the closeness of the National Park. Experienced hikers will be satisfied since the Balaïtous, which is the highest peak of this area, is formed on its glacier and stands at an altitude of 3144m at the rear of the valley.
You will be amazed by everything and everywhere. You will be able to discover the Pyrénées from the Val d’Azun thanks to many activities whatever the season,on foot, riding a bicycle or going paragliding.

Paragliding
Several paragliding schools have flights above Aucun village and our campsite. The weather conditions are good, the valley is wide and the landscapes imposing…
The landing runway is about a few metres from Azun Nature.

Cycling and mountain biking
The Val d’Azun has always welcomed the Tour de France and contributed to the fame of the col d’ Aubisque and col du Soulor .They are appreciated by cycling enthusiats from the beginning of summertime.
The mountain bike center is accredited French Cycling Federation (FFC).There are 210 kilometres of marked trails. It is possible to rent bikes and be accompagnied. . |

Fishing There are many mountain lakes and rivers to fish for trout. In some villages there are fishing trails for children.

Cross-country skiing in the Nordic Space of the Val d’Azun.
Marked trail departures are about 6 kilometres from Azun Nature at the col du Soulor and the col de Couraduque. It is possible to rent skis on the spot. You can also enjoy Alpine skiing in other ski resorts in the vicinity - Cauterets (30mns), Hautacam (40mns), Luz-Ardiden,

The Val d’Azun is a fantastic base camp to discover the Pyrénées which is close to the Cirque of Gavarnie(Natural UNESCO Site, tha Cirque of Troumouse and Cirque of Estaubé, Cauterets(and its Pont d’Espagne and the Blue Lake), the Pic du Midi de Bigorre-observatory-We are next to Spain and its valley of Formigal, to the Valley of Osseau and its Petit Train d’Artouste, which is the highest railway in Europe…And many other places to explore.
